ArchivesBernard Chadenet has served for the Energy Division of the World Bank, Head of projects and Vice-President of World Bank with Robert McNamara before working to straighten projects in trouble. He retires in 1980. World bank, whose the mission is initially to rebuild after le WWII, turns its action into an aid to poor countries in the 1970s, with financing development projects. It spread out its role in the global economic order. This text has been published for the first time in Politique étrangère, n° 2/1977.
