One year after the Israeli raid, on September 6, 2007, some doubts remain as to the extent of nuclear technology that North Korea transferred to Damascus, as well as on Pyongyang motivation, and on the origin of the cooperation between both countries. There are also questions about the aims of the Syrian program, its links with the Iranian program, and the aptitude of IAEA’s control to shed light on the whole problem.Thérèse Delpech, Research Associate at the Centre d’études et de recherches internationales (CERI) in the Fondation nationale des sciences politiques, is member of the council of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
