<p class="rtejustify">Igor Delanoë obtained a doctorate in modern and contemporary history from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, and has taught at the French-Russian University College in Saint Petersburg since September 2014. After defending his dissertation on Russia's naval presence in the Mediterranean in late 2012, he did a post-doctorate at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government (National Security Program) and Ukrainian Research Institute, where he worked on security issues in the Black Sea. His research deals with issues relating to Russia's defense and security, its presence in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, and its war fleet. He is a research associate at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute and at the Center for International and European Studies (Kadir Has University, Istanbul). He also writes a blog for the website of the Russian International Affairs Council (Moscow).</p>
