Development and Fight against Poverty: from Reconciliation to Scaling Up
Rich countries have committed $ 12 trillion to tackle COVID-19 at national level. Official development assistance only represents $ 150 billion per year.
However, the Global South countries are suffering significantly from the repercussions of the health crisis and poverty will increase substantially in 2021. Other challenges lie ahead of us, starting with the many impacts of climate change. Therefore, development assistance now needs to be scaled up.
