The German Debate on Country’s Security: Different Discourse, Same Paradigm
Recent debates in Germany about the future of the country’s security and foreign policy have aroused interest abroad, especially in France.
The development of Germany’s discourse on its role on the international scene has led certain parties to hope for change in the country’s strategic position. However, there is no paradigmatic change to be seen in Germany, and the “new” foreign and security policy is in fact very much inscribed in a line of continuity.
