La France vue par les Etats-Unis: réflexions sur la francophobie à Washington
Corps analyses

The debate on Anti-Americanism in France has recently been illustrated with the publication of two books: one by Jean-François Revel and the other by Philippe Roger. But 'francophobia' in the US is far less under scrutiny in France. Nevertheless, this French bashing is very influential among political elites in Washington DC. France does combine many characteristics that make it difficult to stomach for some American officials. On one hand, France claims that its own political model is an authentic alternative to the American ideals. Besides, France is regarded by Americans as a country putting into question the American international status. It was then necessary to describe and analyze the effects 'francophobia' may have on diplomatic relations between France and the US.
