This week, Ifri, in partnership with CATS Network, is launching a series of five videos on the tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean, seen through the prism of the geopolitical rivalry between France and Turkey.
In her contribution, Dorothée Schmid focuses on the relationship with Greece and France, which has taken a new strategic shift in september 2021 following the signature of a defense agreement between the two countries. Both Paris and Athens can benefit from it and use to position themselves as major regional actors, even though the agreement has stirred up controversy within the EU, as it implicitly targets Turkey.
